Are you a General Practitioner with an interest in eating disorders? Are you looking for an opportunity to develop this interest further ?
Tupu Ora is a regional specialist service providing assessment and treatment for, children, adolescents and adults with eating disorders. Tupu Ora is a treatment continuum including outpatient, intensive day programme, a residential facility and consultation and liaison to other services.
As a medical officer for our patients over 18 years of age you will work collaboratively with our multi disciplinary team to provide specialist medical assessment and care of our patients. Familiarity with the medical complications associated with anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa would be desirable, but learning on the job is encouraged and supported. You will be joining a team with another experienced GP/SMO and three experienced psychiatrists. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to ensuring a safe and effective clinical service.

You will already have (or be eligible for) vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (www.mcnz.org.nz). RANZCP fellowship or equivalent is essential and experience working with people with eating disorders is desirable. Basic computer skills and a clean full driver's licence are required.
This is a position working 32 hours a week based at Greenlane Clinical Centre. There is flexibility with days/hours worked.
