An opportunity exists for an experienced Nursing or Allied Health clinical educator with a passion for simulation and knowledge of quality improvement in healthcare delivery to join our Simulation Service team.
As a member of the Clinical Quality and Safety Service, and reporting directly to the Simulation Service Operations Manager, this role contributes to the development and delivery of a simulation service that provides a significant contribution to clinical quality and safety at Auckland DHB.
The role of the Simulation Educator is pivotal to ensuring the efficiency of simulation activities at Auckland DHB on a daily basis. This includes ensuring the availability of all training resources, coaching of nurse educators and training of hospital staff as required. You will also be involved in curriculum development, research activities, marketing, information management, and much more!
This position is suited to an experienced educator with strong leadership and coaching skills, who will apply the strategic principles and vision for the service and will work with their colleagues to develop a high-quality service.
You will value creating a safe, patient-focused learning environment that promotes clinical excellence, use appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to inspire and guide staff and other educators to achieve organisational objectives, particularly patient safety targets.
Our successful candidate will possess a well-developed ability to work professionally with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You’ll be proactive, highly committed and service-driven and be able to meet the demands of a fast-paced role.
You will have clinical simulation experience including debriefing techniques. Experience in curriculum development and research is desirable. You will have a demonstrated track record of delivering effective coaching / mentorship to other health practitioners, preferably in a large and complex organisation.
