We strive to protect health, prevent disease, reduce inequalities and promote wellbeing for the people and environment of Tāmaki Makaurau and Te Tai Tokerau. This means:

- People live free from harm associated with hazards like tobacco and alcohol
- The places in which we live, learn, work and play promote health and wellbeing.
