About the Role
We are looking for New Zealand registered Speech-language Therapist to join our dedicated and supportive Adult Speech-language Therapy team at Auckland City Hospital. This is a Permanent, full-time role, working 40 hours per week. This role is based within the speciality of acute stroke, neurology and rehabilitation in Taiao Ora/ Ward 51 at Auckland City Hospital, however flexibility is required based on clinical demand. Applicants must have a passion for working in rehabilitation.
You will join an excellent team of Speech-language Therapists, delivering high quality evidence based clinical care. You will assess and manage both communication and swallowing disorders due to a variety of conditions in an acute setting, provide rehabilitation, and have the opportunity to develop your skills in the use of FEES and video fluoroscopy.
You will work alongside your wider Allied Health colleagues (including Therapy Assistants) within a multidisciplinary team on the wards to deliver high quality, effective services for our population.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Speech-language Therapy team is part of the larger Allied Health team in Clinical Support Services, based at Auckland City Hospital. The acute Speech-language Therapy teamwork across a range of specialist areas including stroke, neurology, rehabilitation, respiratory, general medicine, oncology, haematology, neurosurgery, and older person’s health. The team work alongside two other Speech-language Therapy subservices, Critical Care and ORL, in a range of extended scope of practice areas including FEES, VFSS, SVR and tracheostomy management. This role is based at Auckland City Hospital.
