About the Role
We have an exciting role, based at Auckland City Hospital. Here we are inviting applications for the Medical Laboratory Scientist position in the Serology Unit, LabPLUS. This is a permanent part-time role with 0.8FTE/32 Hours per week. A significant component of the work uses indirect immunofluorescence (IIF) methodology and applicants will be expected to detail their experience and expertise using this technique. Apart from the IIF methodology applicants must be able to showcase their practical experience using a range of manual, semi-automated and fully automated methods for serological (antibody) diagnostic testing. Key personal skills we are looking for in candidates are those who (a) are adept at task-switching (b) can remain focussed on task(s) when under pressure and (c) are comfortable in a work environment that can demand high flexibility.
This position consists of 24 hr rostered shifts Monday - Sunday.

LabPLUS is an IANZ accredited medical laboratory and is one of New Zealand's premier laboratories. LabPLUS are part of the state-owned Te Toka Tumai Auckland. We offer a comprehensive pathology service for Auckland City Hospital, Starship Children’s Hospital, National Women's Health, and the Greenlane Clinical Centre.
